Fund "Slingshot The Podcast" into 2026
Earlier this year, the New Pennsylvania Project launched “Slingshot The Podcast” with limited funding.
With the recent defunding of public news, the increase of misinformation and disinformation, and the move to podcasts as a trusted resource of information, Slingshot The Podcast is more crucial now than ever, especially in efforts to engage voters in Pennsylvania ahead of the 2025 elections.
In each episode, NPP’s founding CEO,and podcast host, Kadida Kenner brings her background as a former sports television producer and director, and current civil and voting rights organizer to each episode. Offering fresh perspectives on civic engagement, justice, and power is where bold conversations meet culture, politics, entertainment and sports. Slingshot The Podcast amplifies the voices too often overlooked or misrepresented – voices that move the culture forward. Whether talking policy or pop culture, Slingshot The Podcast amplifies the unfiltered truths from the ground up.
Slingshot The Podcast intentionally centers the Black community, and specifically engages Black men, to become more engaged in the democratic process. Past episodes have featured former NFL players and community leaders speaking about how their lives are political, even if not acknowledged.
We’re counting on grassroots supporters, like you, to help us continue to fund our podcast into 2026 – including production, editing, and uploading. This podcast has been an essential piece of our expanded engagement and outreach to our centered communities and we must continue to invest in creative outlets to reach these communities in 2026 and beyond.
