National Bail Out

Become a #FreeBlackMamas Sustainer

The #FreeBlackMamas fellowship is a 6-week program that explores the experience of Black mamas in real communities and provides an opportunity for Black mamas to devise solutions and cast vision together for the future of their communities.

This year we had our most successful Black Mama's Bail Out yet - and we're continuing our work with the #FreeBlackMamas Fellowship.

Bailing out Black mamas and caregivers is a temporary intervention in our corrupt criminal legal system — and it’s only part of the work. Ultimately, the National Bail Out fam is committed to abolishing the systems of pretrial detention and money bail altogether in order to actualize our vision of a world for us, by us, free of cages.

NBO is advancing the possibility for Black liberation and empowering incarcerated communities by providing an opportunity for the mamas and caregivers we bail out to be in political community, to cast vision together as women who have been directly impacted by cages, and to develop their leadership to fight for abolition and the collective liberation of our communities.

The #FreeBlackMamas Fellowship starts June 3rd and runs til September 13th. Your choice to become a recurring donor to National Bail Out will support the fellowship program, ongoing supportive services, and our preparation for next year's bail out!
