States Win for Brittney Miller (NV AD 5)

Assemblywoman Brittney Miller  has represented Nevada’s Assembly District 5 since 2016. Born in Detroit, Michigan to a Black father and Lebanese-American mother, Brittney was raised with a commitment to equality and public and community service,. She has lived in Assembly District 5 for more than 10 years, where she has worked as an educator and taught students from her own neighborhood.

Before entering the legislature, Brittney spent two decades building a career in public service, developing and managing programs in education, workforce development, and prisoner reentry alongside state and federal agencies. She also brings experience from the financial sector and served as a middle school teacher in the Clark County School District. As an assemblywoman, Brittney has continued to focus on education and community issues, including successfully sponsoring legislation addressing class sizes and gender equality in Nevada.

WHY THIS RACE

As the first Black woman to chair the Nevada Assembly Committee on Judiciary, Brittney Miller is a “get things done” lawmaker who fights for all Nevadans. With a popular Republican governor fighting for reelection and determined to ensure that Republicans pick up enough seats to sustain his veto, Brittney must run another robust campaign and keep this seat in Democratic hands.

WHY NEVADA

Nevada is a critical battleground in 2026, where holding Democratic majorities in the legislature is essential to pushing back against Republican Governor Joe Lombardo’s agenda. In a state defined by narrow margins and a rapidly evolving electorate, even a few seats could determine whether Democrats maintain the power to block harmful proposals and continue advancing policies that support working families. Protecting the majority in Nevada isn’t just about defense, it’s about ensuring balance in state government and safeguarding hard-fought gains at a moment when they are most at risk.
