What?

ClexaCon, the entertainment & media conference for LGBTQ women has invited Tagg Nation to do a live show, workshops and discussions, but we need your help to get there.

 

This year’s conference will take place in Las Vegas, NV April 5 – 9.

Why It’s Important For Us to Attend ClexaCon?

Last year’s conference was a huge success, but lacked some diversity. It’s important to us, as well as the event organizers to make sure QPOC (and podcasts) are represented at the conference.

 

With your help we can bring a few elements to the conference to make sure queer people of color, women, trans individuals, activists; and queer history are not only visible, but also recognized.

 

As participants at this conference, we will be able to present the following:

 

·     Comedy for Trans and QPOC: Chelsea Shorte will be bringing “A Lil’ Laughing Color,” a creative writing/comedy workshop, which teaches participants joke writing and how to create life affirming comedy.

 

·     Queer Lady Business: Eboné Bell will be the only person of color representing queer women entrepreneurs. The discussion will highlight how a company that focuses on serving the needs of queer women succeed and thrive in a unique niche.    

 

·     Creative Activism: Ashley Linder will be discussing the idea of community organizing and civic engagement with culture and creativity. This panel explores the role of art (theatre, music, media) in framing our culture’s approach to recognizing and resolving social issues.

 

·     Politics of Representation: Jade Salazar will be discussing how media can affect laws and legislation.

 

·     Tagg Nation Live Show: Our show will focus on current issues and LGBTQ pop culture with a splash of queer history

 

Long story short, we have the opportunity to kickass!

 

 

What Does My Donation Go To?

Great question. Traveling across the country isn’t cheap. Your donation will specifically help pay for our travel from DC to Las Vegas, as well as our accommodations.

 

The money WILL NOT be used for personal spending (food, entertainment, etc.)

 

Any money raised past our goal will be distributed to the Tagg Scholarship Fund. A scholarship created to give young queer women of color $3500 - $5000 towards their college tuition.
