Roxbury, Dorchester, the South End, and Fenway raised me. It was here that I grew up undocumented, in poverty, and watched my childhood friend murdered right in front of me. These experiences shaped me to be the strong Black woman I am today. I’ve always served my community, whether as a foster mom to 18 kids, a mental health provider, or as a non-profit leader working to support local small businesses.
Together, we can ensure an equitable COVID-19 recovery, end the violence plaguing our communities, and create pathways to affordable homeownership and stabilized rents.
