Tarl is running for Green Bay District 9 to serve us all.

Tarl Knight is running for Green Bay City Council to serve you and Green Bay District 9, which includes:

• Astor Neighborhood,

• Downtown Neighborhood,

• Fort Howard Neighborhood,

• Marquette Park Neighborhood,

• Olde Norwood Neighborhood,

• Seymour Park Neighborhood,

• Shipyard Neighborhood,

• Tank Neighborhood,

• Western Corridor Neighborhood,

and the

• Broadway District,

• Downtown District, and

• Shipyard District.

Tarl is running because it's vital we have proud, progressive leadership at City Hall leading the conversation about developing affordable housing, building active neighborhoods, advocating for our businesses, supporting working families and unions, investing in arts and culture, and creating a Green Bay for all.

Tarl is a proven leader for Green Bay neighborhoods.

Tarl is invested in activating our neighborhoods. In 2022, he volunteered with his neighbors to reactivate Shipyard Neighborhood Association, and he volunteered with neighbors in 2025 to reactivate Tank Neighborhood Association. Since 2024, he has also served with his neighbors in Seymour Park Neighborhood Association to continue improving our downtown.

As chairman of Green Bay Neighborhoods, Tarl has spent hundreds of hours supporting and volunteering with our 50 neighborhood associations throughout the city and advocating for over $50,000 in funding for street-level neighborhood improvement projects and revitalization initiatives, including:

• neighborhood cleanups,

• block parties,

• little libraries,

• traffic signage and lighting,

• historic markers,

• resource donation boxes, and

• neighborhood gardens.

Tarl has also volunteered in our neighborhoods by:

• painting park pavilions,

• distributing neighborhood newsletters,

• planting in community gardens, and

• contributing to Good Neighbor Week, a community building partnership between Green Bay Neighborhoods, NeighborWorks Green Bay, and the City of Green Bay.

Tarl is an advocate for Green Bay businesses.

As the director of Green Bay's Shipyard District, Tarl has volunteered thousands of hours with business and property owners to revitalize the South Broadway business area on Green Bay's west side.

Since 2021, Tarl fought for Shipyard District businesses, and achieved official status for the area as Green Bay's newest business district in 2025. He has collaborated with district business owners to unveil street banners, sidewalk benches, and refuse bins along South Broadway and State Street to create a downtown destination.

With district business owners, Tarl founded and directed Green Bay's biggest music festival, All Bands On Deck, which has resulted in over $500,000 in community investment and spending at district businesses since 2021.

During the fight to relocate the coal piles along the Fox River and remediate our waterfront, Tarl knocked doors, circulated petitions, and spoke out at public meetings in support of a deal. He urged district neighborhood and business leaders to raise their voices for their community. Tarl has also attended public meetings to advocate for the reconstruction of the Mason Street Bridge and Ashland Avenue Bridge in order to reconnect the west side and promote a walkable, bikeable downtown.

Tarl is Green Bay's arts and cultural leader.

Under his leadership, Tarl has created $2+ million in arts and cultural investment in Green Bay.

As owner and creative director of The Tarlton Theatre, Tarl has presented hundreds of free and affordable concerts, films, and festivals for the Green Bay community. In 2022, Tarl formed partnerships to bring the Green Bay Film Festival, Green Bay Jazz Orchestra, and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay to our downtown, including The Weidner Downtown At The Tarlton, a fine arts and cultural partnership with The Weidner.

Since 2024, Tarl has presented Keys to the City, a sculptural piano painting festival in which he donated a dozen pianos to Astor, Downtown, Fort Howard, Marquette Park, Seymour Park, Shipyard, and Tank Neighborhoods for children to play in their parks.

In 2025, Tarl co-directed Grooves On The Green, a concert series in partnership between The Tarlton Theatre, Green Bay Neighborhoods, and the City of Green Bay which brought local, original, live music to green spaces in inactive neighborhoods across the city.

Tarl is a voice for working-class families.

Tarl is a working-class resident and business owner. Instead of working for wealthy developers or investors, he understands the challenges of our local, independent businesses and the struggles and priorities of our working-class families. Tarl is running for all people across District 9 because it's important we all have the same opportunity at an improved quality of life. Our community is our own, and it's ours to create. Let's keep creating a greater Green Bay together for all of us.
