Contribution rules
- I am making this contribution with my own personal credit card and not with a corporate or business credit card or a card issued to another person.
- I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
- This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
- I am at least eighteen years old.
-- There is a contribution limit of $5,000, per election, for contributors other than political action committees and $10,000, per election for political action committees.
-- Political contributions are not tax deductible.
-- Contributions from corporations are prohibited under Texas State Law.
-- Individuals that are currently involved in a lawsuit with the City of Houston are prohibited from making contributions to city political campaigns.
-- Individuals listed as Prohibited Political Contributors or those in "blackout" due to a consideration of a contract with the city may not contribute.
-- Campaign finance law requires that we report the name, address, principal employer and occupation of any contributor who contributes $500 or more in any reporting period.
