Technology Serves People

Tech Solidarity is a 501(c) 4 organization founded in 2016 with the mission of bringing the astonishing prosperity of the tech industry into broader contact with the communities we live in.

We hold regular, monthly meetings in major tech centers, participate in political organizing, and work to create an identity and purpose for tech workers separate from the interests of venture capital and startup culture.

In 2018, the group will be working aggressively to organize labor in the tech industry in order to bring a measure of accountability to the big five tech monopolies. It will also be pursuing pilot projects with Lancaster Stands Up and the Cincinnati Union Co-Op Initiative, to find ways to bring effective technical help to these organizations in pursuit of shared political goals.

Tech Solidarity is also backing a slate of progressive candidates running for Congress in 2018, providing them with technical support, and working more broadly to help secure political campaigns and journalists in this critical political year.

Your financial support will allow Tech Solidarity to do the following:

  • Continue to run monthly events in San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, and beyond.
  • Fund travel expenses for the Dear Leader
  • Bring invited speakers to Tech Solidarity events
  • Hire a half-time administrative assistant
  • Rent an apartment in Lancaster, PA for tech volunteers interested in doing a residency with Lancaster Stands Up
  • Rent an apartment in Cincinnati, OH, for tech volunteers interested in doing a residency with the Cincinnati Union Co-Op Initiative
  • Pay legal and accounting costs
  • Buy donuts
  • Rent venues for Tech Solidarity events
  • Organize fundraising events for candidates
Tech Solidarity is a grass-roots organization and does not take money from foundations, tech companies, or outside interests.
