Dear Family and Friends,

Recently I was appointed to the Board of Directors for the College Democrats of America Alumni Association (CDAAA). This organization was founded in 2008 as the first national alumni association for former College Democrats. (Organized as a 527) College Democrats provides funding for a historically under served community; the young adult community.

Membership in the College Democrats of America has expanded by more than 1000% since 2000. The margin by which young people prefer Democrats to Republicans has more than tripled since the Presidential election. College Democrats form the bedrock of the Democratic Party’s future. Hopes to turn any gains into long-term accomplishments will require investment in our organization. Money raised will help young people attend conferences, organize events and stay involved after their college years are over.

As Democrats, we are facing some very tough electoral fights ahead. Our agenda is going to require a sustained effort and the participation of this huge demographic group. Too many students work too hard to further our party's agenda, yet never get to see the fruits of their labor.
