Trans Empowerment Project

Support Trans Empowerment Project

Trans Empowerment Project is a 501(c)(3) which began in late 2016 with a clothing swap. Since then, the organization has expanded to provide a national outreach for Trans & Non-binary communities across the country.

Our projects include:

InTRANSition- an umbrella program to help find safe and accessible emergency resources for Trans & Gender non-conforming communities. This program sees an average of 20-25 applications for assistance from clients monthly.

Trans Mentorship- Our trans mentorship program allows trans and gender nonconforming individuals to create community by helping out another individual on the gender spectrum that may be experiencing hardship or struggling as they navigate their own transitions.

Trans Job Connect- We take the guess work out of whether or not your next employer will be safe by providing job listings from equal opportunity employers, for our job seeking community members. We can also provide resume review and offer tips for navigating successful interviews.

Inmate Advocacy Project- We advocate for the proper care of incarcerated trans individuals while providing resources to these folks and their partners and or chosen family members. In 2020, we will be working hard to also connect these folks with the legal representation they need to protect themselves.

Host Home Project- We are actively recruiting folks around the country that would be willing to house trans clients in need, who may be too old for foster care but still need a little extra help.

The Clothing Swap Project-We are working hard to find folks like you to join us in hosting a clothing swap in your own city, to help us truly address the needs our communities are facing. By hosting a clothing swap, you can make a huge impact by providing someone with the gender affirming clothing they need to live as their authentic self, while also opening the door to community, and creating powerful relationships with allies.
