Jacob Testa for Town Board

I'm Jacob Testa, and I'm running for a second term on the Red Hook Town Board this year. I'm excited at the opportunity to continue serving Red Hook!

If you don't know me, I've lived in Red Hook for eight years and recently bought a house here with my partner. I have a J.D. from William & Mary Law School and a B.A. from Washington & Jefferson College. I'm the Director of Clery Compliance and Deputy Title IX & Civil Rights Coordinator at Bard College, and I have experience with policy development, compliance, emergency management, and problem solving. I love music, reading, going on hikes, and eating at local restaurants.

I've been on the Board for nearly four years, and have been proud to help expand local services, increase green infrastructure and sustainable energy investments, create the Red Hook Housing Committee and begin work on an affordable housing project, add beautiful trails, and preserve farmland for future generations (all without raising taxes!). I listen to community members and work collaboratively with my fellow Board Members to continue making Red Hook the best town in the Hudson Valley.

If reelected, I will work to:

  • Ensure a quality, affordable life for everyone by promoting affordable housing, investing in local services, and keeping taxes lower;
  • Care for our environment, including preserving our natural resources, protecting water quality, advocating for renewable energy, and encouraging initiatives to make Red Hook more sustainable;
  • Grow the local economy by improving infrastructure, supporting local small business development, and helping to better connect Red Hook with other communities in our area; and
  • Advance transparency in local government and encourage more community participation in Town meetings and initiatives.

There are a number of issues that come before the Town Board, but these principles will always take priority in my approach and decisionmaking.

100% of contributions will go toward the cost of campaign literature, lawn signs, and direct communication with community members.

Thank you for your support!

Jacob
