Texas abortion clinics CLOSED
A federal judge just ordered 13 Texas abortion clinics to immediately shut down, leaving just 8 clinics for the entire state.
This is a true crisis—and not just for the women of Texas.
In requiring these clinics to shut down, the court upheld HB2, the radical anti-abortion law passed by Texas Republicans aimed at shutting down clinics with an avalanche of irrational and impossible-to-meet regulations.
What this decision means is that we can no longer count on the courts to protect us. In the past, we counted on the courts to throw out laws like this as a blatant violation of Roe v. Wade. But we can't do that anymore.
