The future of Indiana Democratic leadership starts now — and we need your support to build it.
Since 2011, the Emerging Leaders Project has trained and connected the next generation of Hoosier Democratic leaders through free, year-long programming focused on campaigning, public policy, community engagement, and party-building.
Each year, up to 40 Hoosiers ages 21–40 are selected to participate in this competitive program. Participants attend four intensive training sessions in Indianapolis and gain access to key Democratic events, including the Indiana Democratic Party Holiday Party, the Hoosier Hospitality Dinner, and the State Convention.
Over the past 12 classes, the Emerging Leaders Project has trained 441 participants who are making an impact across Indiana:
- 45+ alumni have been elected to public office
- 140+ alumni have run for office
- 50+ alumni have served as Democratic Party officers at the state or local level
- 400+ alumni have worked on political campaigns in paid or volunteer roles
These numbers represent more than individual achievements — they reflect a growing movement of Hoosiers committed to strengthening Democratic leadership in every corner of the state.
