Kwe’k (pronounced “queck”) means ‘women’ in the Potawatomi language. We are The Women’s Society.
The Kwek Society provides pads, tampons, liners, underwear, educational materials, and our moon time bags filled with supplies to Indigenous students and communities needing these expensive menstrual supplies.
No student should miss school because they are on their moon time and don’t have period supplies. No one should miss work or miss out on daily life because they are on their moon time and don’t have supplies.
We are guided by the needs of the individual communities we support. We trumpet the successes of Indigenous people and fulfill their other material needs when possible. We also work to shine a light on the inequities experienced by those we help.
We appreciate the love and care you show through your donations, your time, and the supplies you send. Thank you for helping eliminate period poverty in Indigenous communities.
Chi Migwetch (Thank you, in Bodwéwadmimwen, the Potawatomi language)
