The Liberation Fund
Our Liberation Fund supports local families and community members that are impacted by the incarceration-to-deportation pipeline. Inequities in the legal system disproportionately affect migrants and people of color – particularly those who have been criminalized. We hope to relieve some of that burden with this fund.
The money raised here will go primarily towards commissary and phone funds to people being held inside ICE detention centers in Virginia, which includes many community members from the whole DMV area. Each month, a detained person can request $50 in commissary funds, providing access to more humane food and hygiene products, and $25 for phone access, enabling them to remain in contact with family, legal support, and community members while they are inside. We need your support!
