Commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr with first-hand recollections of the march from Selma to Montgomery in March of 1965

Cambridge resident Roy Davis was only 14 years old when, inspired by the preachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., he joined MLK, John Lewis, Ralph Abernathy, Andrew Young, Harry Belafonte, Joan Baez and James Baldwin (to name a few) in making that 54 mile journey.

Come to the Christ Episcopal Church in Cambridge at 4pm on Monday, January 20, 2025 to hear Mr. Davis' first-hand experience alongside Dr. King. Participants will have a chance to ask him questions about his experience.

Our commemoration the 60th anniversary of that historic march will also include thoughts on the true meaning of Martin Luther King Day, by Pastor Yvonne Wallace-Penn, as well as singing by Maris Wicker and Marie Anderson.

The event is open and free to all. We're asking people to register so we can be sure to have enough chairs!
