My name is Nathaniel Borrell Dyer and I love children. I am a bachelor with no biological children, but I have advocated, mentored and taught children as if they were my own. For the past 12 years of my life, I can attribute my passion for children to my mother’s tireless dedication of 33 years as a retired educator. She provided me with a sound blueprint for success and longevity in educating children. Professionally, I have worked in Corporate America as a Senior Art Director for Bank of America. As an entrepreneur, I have worked with organizations such as The Carter Center, National CASA and the African-American Outreach Initiative on high level design projects. As a community activist, I created a youth organization called KIDS FIRST! that provides free breakfasts, lunches and enrichment during the summer months for children up to age 18. Through this initiative, I have been able to employ and manage a team 25 teens and adults. I also teach art and creative writing to children of all ages. I am a fine artist, musician and poet.

I understand that the position is not about me but how I can improve the lives of our children and their education. I believe in our children and all the potential they posses. This is my life’s calling and I am committed and up to the task in providing an equitable world-class education to all of Atlanta’s children.
