As many of you know I have long been an activist around LGBTQ and MarriageEquality issues and since 12/14 my activism extends into GVP (GunViolence Prevention) Advocacy.
This activism was born out of watching my friends suffer the unimaginable after the Sandy Hook Massacre. Since relocating to N.J. I have taken on a greater role as a volunteer co-leader for a county chapter in N.J. with Moms Demand Action for America. Moms Demand Action is nonpartisan grassroots organization that wants to do everything they can to keep their kids safe. They work to demand legislators, companies and educational institutions establish common sense gun reform.
I am lending my voice and efforts to help create change that I believe we can achieve. I’ve challenged myself to raise $1000.00 for Moms Demand Action by June 2nd – National GunViolence Awareness Day/Wear Orange Day. This day was inspired by friends of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old Chicago high school student killed by gunfire, who decided to honor her life by wearing orange – the color hunters wear in the woods to protect themselves and others.
Will you join me in the fight against gun violence with a gift of 3, 5, 10, or 20 dollars to support our public education programs and our work with gun violence survivors?
When you give, your tax-deductible donation will help fuel the work of Moms here and across the country. If you are able to help me reach my fundraising goal you will have my deepest gratitude and thanks.
Can you please help me reach my goal by donating now?
xoxo, Theresa
