The Undercurrent, a grassroots political reporting web-show sponsored by American Family Voices, was founded in 2012 by Lauren Windsor, who has been AFV's executive director since 2014. Over the years, The Undercurrent has broken major news stories, most notably on Sen. Tommy Tuberville's efforts to challenge the Electoral College, the Michigan GOP delegation visit to meet with President Trump about overturning 2020 election results, and exclusive audio from the Koch brothers' 2014 summer donor retreat.

Lauren's interviews from the Georgia Senate runoffs garnered nearly 6.4 million views on Twitter alone, and her coverage was featured on numerous local and national digital, broadcast, and cable outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, The Washington Post, USA Today, Newsweek, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and many others. Both Donald Trump and AOC tweeted her stories. You can watch the highlights in the reel above.

Project Veritas Exposed, an investigative research project of The Undercurrent, serves as a vetting resource and information hub for media, attorneys, and progressive movement activists, organizations, and campaigns to combat the rightwing espionage efforts of James O'Keefe and Project Veritas. We've been featured in The New York Times, Washington Post, The Intercept, The Daily Beast, and many other publications.

Next up, The Undercurrent will travel across America to expose the hypocrisy of state and federal politicians on the American Rescue Plan, Covid response, new voter suppression laws, and support for the January 6 insurrection. Please donate today to support our work.
