South Dakotans have a long history of using the initiative process to stand up to our leaders, and we've already won this fight twice before in 2006 and 2008 when our voters struck down extreme abortion initiatives.
Plus, we raised the minimum wage, kicked out payday lenders, passed campaign finance reform, legalized marijuana, and expanded Medicaid. And every time we did it, we did it by putting the issue directly in front of the people.
