Fund the Fight to Reject Trump’s Gulf of America Imperialist Fantasy Now!

Donald Trump’s latest executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America” is more than a ridiculous grab for attention, it’s a dangerous attempt to rewrite geography, enforce nationalist propaganda, and inject imperialist fantasies into American classrooms.

This decree is a glaring example of Trump’s obsession with reshaping reality to fit his authoritarian worldview, no matter the cost to truth or education.

By forcing American schools to adopt this absurd name, Trump sends a message to students: facts are irrelevant if they don’t align with his agenda. What’s next—rewriting history books to downplay slavery or erase Indigenous histories? His decree is a direct assault on education, critical thinking, and our nation’s commitment to global understanding.

The rest of the world isn’t playing along. International maps, organizations, and leaders will continue to call it what it has always been. But Trump doesn’t care. His goal is clear: to manipulate American education into promoting his nationalist fantasies and erasing the contributions of other nations.

We cannot let Trump’s authoritarian tactics poison the minds of our children. Our classrooms are not his playground, and our teachers are not his propagandists.
