Fund the Fight calling on President Biden to Nominate More LGBTQ+ nominees for the federal bench now!

The federal bench holds immense power to shape and interpret our nation's laws, ensuring fairness, protection, and equality for all. The experiences and perspectives of LGBTQ+ individuals are essential to the functioning of a just and fair judiciary. Judges with diverse lived experiences can provide unique perspectives and insights, making our legal system more effective, empathetic, and equitable.

Yet, right now our federal judiciary is completely imbalanced. The number of judges with anti-LGBTQ+ perspectives have proven to be a significant threat to the rights and dignity of all. Just look at these stats: while more than 7% of Americans identify as LGBTQ+, among federal judges it’s only 1.6%.

This diverse and vibrant community is woefully underrepresented and the glaring disparity means that our courts do not reflect the diverse society they are tasked with serving.

In fact, there has never been an openly transgender, non-binary, or bisexual judge on a federal court, further underscoring the lack of representation and the need for greater inclusivity and diversity in our judicial system.

President Biden must take his commitment to diversity and representation to the next level.
