Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Oregon) has introduced the REAL House Act to increase diversity and representation in Congress.
Based on 2020 Census data, New York, Texas, Florida, and California would see the largest increases in representation, gaining 10 or more Representatives each. In total, Congress would have 585 members.
Representation is critical to a working democracy and this reform would significantly increase geographic and demographic inclusion nationwide.
