I am running to represent New Jersey's Second District in Congress. As I embark on this journey, I need your support and partnership.
My path to public service is somewhat unconventional. Before joining the police force, I was a victim of police brutality. The encounter was brutal, unjust, and life-altering. But rather than let that moment define me, I chose to channel the experience into action. I joined the police force, determined to reform the system from within and to ensure that what happened to me would not happen to anyone else.
Over twenty-seven years, I rose through the ranks to become a Captain of Detectives, continually advocating for fairness and justice. My tenure in law enforcement was followed by work as a prosecutor, and now I serve our community as a Civil Rights Attorney.
Together, we can effect meaningful change and create a just, inclusive community that responds to the needs of all residents in New Jersey's Second District and our country.
