The New York Times just profiled the American Federation of Government Employees’ fight back against Trump’s war on federal workers:
The article was a stark picture of how even as federal worker unions face an existential attack, the Trump administration is forcing them to scramble to maintain their own basic infrastructure:
Until recently, Local 3957 had nearly 200 dues-paying members, all at Oakdale, including officers, teachers, case managers and food service workers. [...] The Bureau of Prisons would no longer allow union dues to be deducted from paychecks. Within days, Local 3957 shrank to fewer than 50 paying members, who had signed up to use an online portal to pay their dues — $19.40 every two weeks.
The Labor Force is partnering with AFGE to launch the Federal Worker Defense Fund, to help unions like Local 3957 fight back! Can you chip in to the Federal Worker Defense Fund today?
