I've been working to reduce gun violence for over 20 years and now I am a volunteer with Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a grassroots group fighting for common-sense gun laws.
We're talking about the sorts of things that most Americans agree on: Background checks on all gun sales. Preventing domestic abusers from getting their hands on guns. Closing the sorts of loopholes that allowed a white supremacist to kill 9 people in the sanctity of their Charleston church, and that make it easy for criminals to buy dozens of guns legally in Georgia, then re-sell them illegally in New York.
This year, in honor of our Wear Orange campaign, we'll be raising awareness about how big of a problem gun violence is in the United States, AND raising money to help solve that problem.
Hope you will invest and stand with me to fight for common-sense solutions to what has become a public health crisis.
So, for the 90-plus people a day (8 of them children) who die, and the 200 more people who are injured each day by gun violence, I ask you to please make a contribution to this essential cause. Thank you kindly!
