Goal thermometer

Thank you for visiting my page! I'm Tonya, I've been a volunteer for Moms Demand Action since 2015. Like most of the people in this country I was absolutely traumatized by the Sandy Hook massacre, but that is not when I got involved. I waited. That was December 14, 2012. I thought for sure, after losing 20 children and 6 educators, this country was going to make some major changes! Then it didn't. I waited and waited. I signed petitions. I shared posts on Facebook. Then in 2015 I had to register my son for pre-k and I realized I was terrified. That's when I got angry. No one should have to live like this! It is not a free country when we live in fear for our safety and the safety of our precious loved ones. Since Sandy Hook we have had more than 200 school shootings and zero Federal legislation.

I chose Moms Demand Action because they are fighting for common sense things we can ALL agree on. I have watched this organization grow like nothing I've ever seen, so I hopped on board to help out! I hope you will too, but know that we cannot do what we do without financial support as well. So thank you for reading my story and for supporting our work! Please remember that no amount is too small and no action you take goes unnoticed by those of us involved. Every like on Facebook, every share, every word of encouragement, Tweet, phone call to your Senator, every single bit of it matters and I thank you for being there with me!
