TPS Emergency Fund

A significant segment of TPS beneficiaries have worked in our country for decades. Many of them do not have the option to shelter in place or work from home because they are needed on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. From home healthcare, food processors, grocery stores, manufacturing and other essential jobs, more than 130,000 TPS beneficiaries are exposing themselves to the risk of infection.

Despite their years of contributions, and the important role they are playing in the country’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, their humanity has been denied. TPS holders and their families will be facing the tragic reality of deportation in less than a year, if Congress does not act.

Because we know we can’t count with a secure safety net, the NTPSA is building the TPS EMERGENCY FUND. We have become vulnerable in the midst of this pandemic, having either contracted the virus or experiencing economic hardship due to lack of work. While TPS beneficiaries are included in the recent federal stimulus package, many of our families will still be ineligible for these benefits.

This fund will provide direct assistance to TPS beneficiaries who find themselves impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic, specifically:

  • TPS beneficiaries who fall ill with COVID19
  • TPS beneficiaries that are 60 years and older
  • TPS beneficiaries vulnerable due to their medical conditions
  • TPS Beneficiaries that have lost their jobs and whose income is reduced to the point that can’t pay the bills due to COVID-19 pandemic
  • TPS beneficiaries that are single parents or sole providers for their kids
  • TPS Beneficiaries with mixed families under the same household, whose spouses, offsprings or parents income has been significantly reduced
  • If we have enough funds and we can help others that have lost jobs, and those whose income has been reduced significantly (even with unemployment) we will try our best to provide assistance.
