It is up to all of us to fight to ensure every child and family in Iowa succeeds. This includes supporting Iowa children cradle to career. Supporting livable wages and benefits for workers. And advocating for affordable, accessible, equitable healthcare for all. Would you consider donating to fuel this crucial work?
An early childhood educator & advocate and small business owner in Cedar Rapids, Tracy Ehlert announced she will be seeking re-election to the Iowa House for a 5th term.
Ehlert says, “I’m running for the Iowa House to continue to be a strong voice for Iowa children and families. It’s time for lawmakers in Des Moines to focus on hard-working families who are being left behind. We need to continue to work on things like ensuring that every Iowan has access to affordable and accessible healthcare. That Iowans have jobs with good benefits to support their own family. We need to address the childcare care crisis, expand preschool and ensure that all Iowa children have a world-class education that will set them up for success. Whether they go straight into the workforce, continue onto higher ed or start a trade program, we must have the next generation at the heart of the work we do in the legislature.”
Ehlert has owned and operated B2K Learning Center & Consulting for the past eighteen years. She also works in the Cedar Rapids Community School District and is a Continuing Education Instructor for Child Care Resource & Referral. She has an undergrad and graduate degree in Early Childhood Education and is a longtime volunteer at YPN (formally Young Parents Network).
She also serves on several national, state and local early childhood boards and organizations. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons and her three rescue dogs.
