F*ck Bans: Leave Queer Kids Alone (And adults. And all of us, you absolute freaks.) - THE NON-PROFIT FUND

embed errored

Support non-profit orgs directly providing resources and legal support to the trans and queer community, like the Trans Justice Funding Project (if you want to make a tax-deductible contribution or have a matching program at work, go wild).

If you'd like to contribute to more partisan organizations who are advocating for trans freedom in the states where right-wing politicians are targeting queer people most aggressively, you can donate here.

OK, on to the important stuff:

Rightwing politicians are targeting trans people in legislatures across the country. They’re trying to divide and scare and distract people because their actual agenda (tax cuts for billionaires, pollution for the rest of us) stinks. So they stoke fear and confusion to rile up their base and turn hateful bullshit into an applause line. And you know what? It absolutely sucks.

But here’s the good news. These out of touch weirdos are in a bind. Because it turns out that threatening doctors and loving parents for supporting trans teens, banning books, silencing gay teachers, obsessing over bathrooms in a pretty creepy way - none of these attacks on our basic freedoms are very popular.

So let’s fight back. That means protecting vulnerable people right now - by supporting organizations on the ground in states that are banning care and targeting trans youth. And that means bringing as many people as we can into this fight - to build power and show these rightwing goons that they’re not just wrong and cruel - they’re losers too.

Chip in today to our FUCK BANS: LEAVE QUEER KIDS ALONE fund.

Your donation will be split evenly between the following recipients today, with more to be added in soon:

  • The Campaign for Southern Equality is working to build a South where LGBTQ people are equal in every part of life. They provide funding and training to Southern LGBTQ folks organizing in their hometowns and prioritize supporting groups and individual leaders whose access to funding and support is limited due to barriers such as not having 501c3 status, or being located in a rural area.
  • The Trans Justice Funding Project moves money to trans-led grassroots groups and projects and amplifies their community organizing.
  • The Transgender Law Center (TLC)'s advocacy and precedent-setting litigation victories—in areas including employment, prison conditions, education, immigration, and healthcare—protect and advance the rights of transgender and gender nonconforming people across the country.

There has never been more trans visibility than right now. There has never been more support for gay and trans and queer young people than right now. That’s why Republicans are lashing out. It’s desperate and evil and destined to fail. But it’s up to us to make that true, today and every day.

Fuck these creeps. Fuck these bans.

And stay tuned to Crooked Media and Vote Save America for more ways to stay informed, get involved, and fight back.
