Trans-formation Emergency Fund: Helping Trans Folks Facing Emergency Situations

TransOhio's Trans-formation Emergency Fund provides emergency assistance to trans folks who urgently need financial support to access healthcare, food, housing, or relocation to a safer and more affirming environment!


We're on a mission to continue creating a safety net for our trans, nonbinary, intersex, and gender non-conforming community members in Ohio.


Since launching the Fund in December 2023, we have distributed well over $200,000 of emergency cash assistance and additional resource connections to thousands of trans folks and families, with the support of countless donations from people liike you.


💜 Why We Need Your Help:

Microgrants are provided to those trans individuals and families of trans youth who urgently need to relocate to a safer and more affirming environment and/or who are experiencing current care access issues.


We understand that access can be affected by a variety of outside factors and will help through available funds and trusted resources as best we can with the following:

  • Homelessness or housing insecurity
  • Basic needs (food, imminent shutoff of utilities, etc.)
  • HRT access
  • Transportation to medical appointments
  • Emergency safety measures

Every dollar you contribute goes directly toward covering emergency expenses such as covering initial care visits outside of insurance, travel, moving costs, temporary housing, food, bus fair, mobility aids, and other essentials. Together, we can create a network of support that empowers our trans community members and their allies to navigate all of the current twists and turnsthese transitions with dignity and security.


For example:

  • $25.00 gets 4 trans people busfare to get to life-changing medical appointments
  • $100.00 gets 2 trans people their 3-month prescription of HRT
  • $250.00 gets 3 trans people relocated safely out of dangerous situations.
  • $1,000.00 keeps 6 trans people from losing their apartments & staying housed
