You can split a contribution evenly among these groups that are working for trans rights and supporting and uplifting trans and non-binary people, and specifically, trans and non-binary people of color. You can also check out this list and allocate your donation individually! Here’s a little about each group on this page in their own words:
- Black Trans Fund: The first national fund in the country dedicated to uplifting and resourcing Black trans social justice leaders.
- Trans Women of Color Collective: Uplifts the narratives, lived experiences and leadership of trans and gender non-conforming people of color, our families and comrades as we build towards collective liberation for all oppressed people.
- TransLash: A trans-led project, using the power of personal stories to dissolve the lack of knowledge at the heart of trans erasure. Our goal is to shift the cultural understanding of what it means to be transgender in order to foster social inclusion and reduce anti-trans hostility.
- The Transgender District: The first legally recognized transgender district in the world, encompasses six blocks in San Francisco.
- The Sylvia Rivera Law Project: Works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination or violence.
- Trans Justice Funding Project: Community-led funding initiative founded in 2012 to support grassroots, trans justice groups run by and for trans people in the United States, including U.S. territories.
- Trans Lifeline: A grassroots hotline and microgrants 501(c)(3) non-profit organization offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis – for the trans community, by the trans community.
- SNaPCo: Working to build a Black Trans Futurist Framework for practical abolition as the way to liberation. A Black, trans-led, broad based collaborative to restore an Atlanta where every person has the opportunity to grow and thrive without facing unfair barriers, especially from the criminal legal system.
- Gender Spectrum: Works to create gender sensitive and inclusive environments for all children and teens.
- TransTech Social Enterprises: An incubator for LGBTQ Talent with a focus on economically empowering the T, transgender people, in our community.
