Dear Friends,

I've had the opportunity to work for the Democratic Party of Oregon for the past two years as the Executive Director. It has been an absolute whirlwind and an extraordinarily rewarding experience.

I come to you today to ask for your support.

Many people ask me: What does the Democratic Party do? The Party works behind the scenes to help build up our candidates and ensure their success. We are the legal and financial backbone for all of our federal coordinated campaigns and we develop and administer the most important technological tools that campaigns use to win elections. We are the grassroots effort that calls, walks and talks to every voter we can to convince them to vote for our candidates. In 2008 alone, the Democratic Party of Oregon made over 1.5 million phone calls for our candidates with great success. Not only did we elect President Barack Obama and retain all of our statewide offices, we also took out an entrenched incumbent, Gordon Smith, and replaced him with a true progressive, Jeff Merkley.

The Democratic Party of Oregon is currently facing serious financial difficulties. The economy has dried up much of our all volunteer funding.

Today I am asking you to step up and help with a contribution to help keep the Democratic Party of Oregon strong.
