Stop Election Sabotage!

THE PROBLEM:

Every vote should count.

But those who believe Republican leaders:

  • Think the 2020 election was stolen, and
  • Are preparing to sabotage upcoming elections to make sure Republicans win no matter how citizens vote.

Here’s how:

  1. They’re placing election deniers into positions affecting elections, including running candidates for Secretary of State who oversee elections.
  2. They’re suppressing votes by knocking Democrats off voter lists and intimidating voters, targeting voters of color.
  3. Republican legislators are passing laws to make it easier to manipulate election results and to alter certification. For example, Georgia’s Republican-controlled state-legislature has granted itself the power to refuse to certify a Democratic win or certify a Republican win even when the Democratic candidate gets more votes.

THE SOLUTION:

We must protect our election integrity. The best way to do that is to elect honest Secretaries of State who oversee elections, particularly in swing states.

We call on all Americans to join us in supporting candidates for Secretary of State who are committed to fair elections. SIX races are key in the battle for election integrity:

  • Arizona (Adrian Fontes)
  • Colorado (Jena Griswold)
  • Georgia (Bee Nguyen)
  • Michigan (Jocelyn Benson)
  • Minnesota (Steve Simon)
  • Nevada (Cisco Aguilar)

About Truly Blue:

MISSION: Truly Blue mobilizes the Yale community to preserve American democracy. We engage members of the Yale community to strengthen our country by supporting voting rights, election integrity and civic institutions. We oppose the mobilization of hate as a political force, attacks on our civic institutions, and the rise of authoritarianism. We support candidates and organizations which will make it easier for citizens to vote, ensure votes are counted accurately, respect the will of the voters, and strengthen our democratic institutions.

We begin by supporting candidates for state Secretary of State, and organizations committed to fighting voter suppression and protecting election integrity. We identify races where the talent, skills and resources of our community can have a pivotal impact, and recommend those races.
