Social Security Works

Put Trump’s budget in the garbage.

No one voted in 2016 to cut Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid. As a candidate, Donald Trump promised to protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. And yet, as he has in previous budget proposals, Donald Trump is calling for nearly $2.5 trillion in cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.

And at a time when 10,000 people retire every day, we should be investing in the first-class service the Social Security Administration brings, helping people access the benefits they’ve earned through a lifetime of hard work. Trump’s budget would cut $400 million from SSA--forcing offices to close and adding to the already-long wait times.

Social Security Works is planning a campaign with our coalition partners to ensure that Donald Trump’s budget ends up where it belongs: In the garbage.

If you want to expand Social Security, not cut it like Donald Trump proposes, we need a nationwide movement to make sure Trump’s budget lands in the garbage. Can you chip in to keep the movement strong?
