Beware of Trump's Sneak Attack on Social Security

Trump and his budget director/chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, who has long been hostile to Social Security, are trying a new tactic to cut our earned benefits. And they're hoping nobody notices.

Last week, the Trump administration revealed that it is planning to employ the so-called chained Consumer Price Index (CPI) in a way that does not need congressional approval.

Trump plans to switch to the Chained CPI to index the federal definition of poverty. And, if successful, he and Mick Mulvaney will then attempt to tie the Chained CPI to Social Security -- a direct cut to our earned benefits.

Social Security Works has successfully led the fight against cuts to our Social Security system for nearly a decade. Can you chip in today to protect our earned benefits from Trump administration sabotage?
