Donate to TSBC's Website Fund

If you appreciate TSBC's ethical and LGBTQ+ inclusive family-building program, please consider a tax-deductible donation to help us provide these services—including free researched-backed resources and education—with an updated, mobile optimized website.

TSBC began as part of a feminist health center in 1982 and we continue to focus on providing information and support for recipients, donors, parents and donor-conceived adults.

This is where the TSBC Website Fund comes in and why we need your help! Our website (a key communication tool especially during a pandemic) is currently running on software that will no longer be supported after 2022. Despite the challenges of the pandemic leading to a reduction in our fee-for-service revenue, we have been able to keep our programs running and maintain the stability of our organization with the support of donations from our TSBC community and government grant and loan programs. What we have not been able to do is keep our infrastructure updated.

Our website is a primary way that we communicate with families, donors and donor-conceived adults. TSBC’s website is also a free source of LGBTQ+ and single parent inclusive education, research and compiled resources available to anyone interested in learning more about donor-assisted family building and sperm storage. With financial support from Sasha and Kevin Alexander, we have been updating our online educational materials to provide the most current information and support. Our new website will help us to get these valuable educational resources to a broader audience as part of our unwavering commitment to the well-being of parents, children, and donors.

What will it take?

Our website fund goal is $100,000. Developing a mobile optimized website that will provide easy access to our plentiful education resources and be fully aligned with our mission to provide ethical family option to our diverse community is a big task. We are partnering with a women-owned tech firm, Bright and Associates LLC, who we have worked with for more than 20 years, to develop a website that will support all our services and be a manifestation of our values.

Consider the role TSBC has played in your life—your financial contribution will help us provide the same services and support to others. If you have not used our services, consider how important an ethically-run, researched-backed, LGBTQ centered, family building program is in a field increasingly filled with large for-profit companies. This fund will cover the website upgrade in 2022 that will be a resource for years to come.

Please join me donating to the TSBC Website Fund and help us expand our abililty to provide free quality, up-to-date, inclusive education and resources!

Mission and Background:

The Sperm Bank of California is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing ethical family building options to our diverse community. We have an unwavering commitment to the well-being of parents, children, and donors.

TSBC is small yet mighty--the little sperm bank that could do (and continues to do) what no other has done before. TSBC started in 1982 as the first program to provide donor sperm services to lesbians and single women. We continue to offer services centering the LGBTQ community and single parents by choice, including storing genetic material for trans* folks planning a family in the future. Our Identity-Release® Program, the oldest, most thoroughly researched, open-identity donation program in the world, allows donor-conceived adults the option to learn the identity of their donor. In this spirit of openness, we were also the first sperm donation program to offer the option for families to connect with others who share their donor through our Family Contact List.
