Tax the Rich Presents The Fever by Wallace Shawn

For one night only…

Join NYC-DSA’s Tax the Rich campaign for a night you’ll never forget! NYC-DSA’s Tax the Rich campaign is pleased to announce a performance of THE FEVER, a one-man play written and performed by Wallace Shawn. This blistering, dreamlike monologue delves into the mental twists and turns of an unnamed bourgeois narrator attempting to reckon with the inherent contradictions of his class position after a copy of Marx's Capital, Volume I is anonymously dropped on his doorstep.

Your ticket will go towards raising money for NYC-DSA’s Tax the Rich campaign, as we embark on our campaign to raise revenue to provide free, universal, publicly run, no means-testing, child care accessible and usable by everyone and backfill Trump’s barbaric tax cuts. You can help us send buses to Albany, buy lit to knock on our neighbor’s doors.

There are only 250 tickets available for this special performance and each tier has a limited number of seats. Please consider buying a ticket at your highest price point so that other comrades benefit from the tiered pricing!

Why are we taxing the rich?

As the federal government cuts spending on crucial social services that provide for New Yorkers, Zohran has offered a vision of an affordable New York that has energized our neighbors and the country to work towards a future that works for everyone, all while the Democratic party flounders.

We have the power to build the world we want to see but it requires additional revenue in the state budget -- and there is no better way to raise that revenue than to tax the rich.

We’re going to deliver on the promise of Zohran’s campaign to provide our city with universal child care and prove to our neighbors and our country that democratic socialism is not only viable -- it is the only way to protect ourselves from fascism.
