Help Hold Sen. Cruz Accountable for his Climate Denial

Three families from Wimberley, Texas — the town hardest hit by the floods that left at least 1,000 homes damaged and 31 people dead —will make the hour-long drive to Sen. Cruz’s Austin office to hold a press conference shaming him for his callous climate denial.

Afterwards, they’ll march inside the J.J. Pickle Federal Building in hopes of meeting with Sen. Cruz. They’ll be backed up by the over 10,000 supporters who signed the petition demanding the presidential candidate meet with his constituents to discuss their concerns about climate change’s role in the floods.

They’ve submitted a meeting request to Sen. Cruz’s staff, but they haven’t heard back.

To make this trip worth their while, we want to make sure they get to meet with their senator. That’s why we’re placing a full-page ad in The Austin Statesman this Thursday publicly asking Cruz to meet with victims of the floods. Will you chip in?
