UPMC workers are tired of being called essential when they’re being treated as expendable. UPMC, the state's largest charity and employer, made record profits during the pandemic — $23 billion last year. Yet the workers who kept UPMC hospitals running earn poverty wages. UPMC could have given every one of their workers in Pittsburgh a $5/hour raise and still made $522 million last year.
On November 18, like workers across the country, UPMC's hidden healthcare heroes are standing up and going on strike. It’s time for UPMC to pay workers $20/hour, eliminate outstanding medical debt for every hospital worker, and respect workers’ right to form their union.
Will you donate $20 to hidden healthcare workers striking for $20/hour?
