Two very important groups are working to expand turnout among Black and Latine voters in Mecklenburg County, critical to winning the state in November.
Roughly 1/3 of the votes needed to win statewide can be found in this one county. But under-performance among Black and Latine voters has crippled efforts to ensure a participatory electorate. There are just under 300,000 voters who are at risk of sitting out the election if they are not reached by a trusted organization within their community.
