Trump’s next move could silence voters - unless we act
Donald Trump has ordered Republicans to break every rule of redistricting in order to give Republicans a mid-decade advantage. He has demanded that states like Texas, Indiana, and, North Carolina move forward with maps that would ensure Republicans maintain control in the 2026 elections, even as every prediction shows the Congress swinging to Democrats.
Virginia Democrats are taking steps to ensure that should Trump continue to illegitimately redistrict, we're able to fight back here in the Commonwealth. This is not a step we take lightly, but one we know must be taken to ensure the abuses of the Trump Administration have a stopping point. Yesterday, I spoke on the floor of the House, highlighting this fact.
