Thank you so much for joining our grassroots campaign to protect our progress. Like a lot of you, I worry about keeping our home and staying in the community that my family and I love.
Housing insecurity affects over half of all renters in Los Angeles County. Homeowners, especially newcomers to the market like my family, are also at risk. My wife works in the entertainment industry, I'm a government housing policy analyst and we spend almost half our income on our home. We're more fortunate than most, but like many young families we're one layoff away from being uprooted from the city, the community, and the walking-distance school where our oldest daughter has thrived.
I'm a tenants' rights advocate, a housing policy analyst, an urban planner, a musician, a staunch union member, and a parent. I believe in protecting educators, empowering our kids, providing resources to those who need them and opportunities to those who want them. Most of all, I believe that housing is a human right. Let's take that next big step towards an affordable Burbank!
