VERSES. is a night of poetry, music, and performance that brings together established and emerging artists of different disciplines and backgrounds to benefit pressing social and political issues. On the evening of Friday, January 18th, VERSES. is partnering with the Asylum Seeker Advocacy Project.
ASAP provides emergency legal aid to asylum seekers across the United States, preventing more than 400 deportations in over 30 states to date. ASAP’s private online community connects more than 3,000 asylum-seeking mothers to one another while giving them the tools they need to take control of their legal cases and advocate for their families. ASAP also magnifies the advocacy efforts of asylum-seeking families through litigation, press, and policy work.
Your contribution will directly support ASAP's work on behalf of asylum-seeking families who are fighting for the opportunity to live in safety in the United States.
Doors will open at 7:00 PM and the show begins at 7:30 PM.
For more information about ASAP, please watch this video of our co-founders and read this two-pager describing our work.
