Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an “anti-riot” bill that gives people civil immunity to run over protesters with their cars. After a year where protest has been crucial to advancing the fight for racial justice, this type of direct attack on first amendment rights is unconscionable.
Floridians deserve better than this, and in 2022, they will have the opportunity to go to the polls and vote for a governor that represents and protects the interests of Floridians to protest. To put it bluntly, we need to elect leaders who do not think it's okay to use a car to run over protestors. On average, it costs $3 to mobilize 1 voter.
