Goal thermometer

Amy Perruso is a 13-year resident of District 46's beautiful Launani Valley. Amy's endeavor to educate our children has taken her around the world, from California to Shanghai to Finland and, finally, to Mililani High School, where she has been  teaching social studies for the past 15 years.

Amy currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the Hawai'i State Teachers Association. She is also a member of the Every Student Succeeds Act Team, which was tasked with devising a blueprint for the future of Hawai'i's public schools. She was a Fulbright Scholar and was one of the final five national finalists for the Gilder-Lehrman National History Teacher of the Year Award, among other awards and recognition. When she's not in her classroom, Amy enjoys community organizing, surfing, and spending time with her husband, son and three daughters.
