Dr. Chris Cruz-Boone is currently serving her second term as a Trustee for the Bakersfield City School District (BCSD), the largest elementary school district in California. In her role as a trustee, Dr. Cruz-Boone also serves on the District Climate, Culture, and Safety Committee, which regularly reviews the safety challenges facing our public schools. During her tenure as a BCSD Trustee, the offerings of music and art education have been expanded across every grade level, Dual Immersion students continue to perform academically above grade level, summer school has been reinstated, holiday break enrichment has been added, and after-school academies have grown.
In addition to her role on the school board, Dr. Cruz-Boone has championed many causes as a local leader, including improving access to higher education, advocating for dignity and programs for unhoused citizens, mitigating drug abuse—especially among our youth—and promoting the necessity of access to Narcan. As a parent and educator, Dr. Chris Cruz-Boone has been and will continue to be a fierce advocate for children and her neighborhood schools.
Just as our home, the San Joaquin Central Valley, requires water to thrive, political campaigns need financial support to sustain their efforts. Dr. Cruz-Boone respectfully requests your contribution, no matter how small, to help her continue serving her community.
Both Dr. Chris Cruz-Boone and her husband John are proud lifelong public school educators. Although this profession is deeply rewarding, it is not financially lucrative.
As a proud union family, our campaign is committed to utilizing your contributions solely for union-registered promotional materials.
