Sarah Brand (she/her) is a progressive political activist, mutual aid organizer, writer, and health economist based in Silver Spring, running for Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee (MCDCC) At-Large.
What is the MCDCC?
The MCDCC is the governing body of the Montgomery County Democratic Party. They are responsible for helping to elect Democrats throughout the county, advocating for issues that are important to MoCo Democrats, and filling vacancies in the state legislature between elections.
Why Sarah?
Sarah is running on the MCDCC At-Large Progressive Slate. Sarah and the rest of the Progressive Slate pledge to:
- Reform the legislative vacancy process to make it more democratic
- Strengthen efforts to get out the vote and elect Democrats
- Prioritize the needs and voices of marginalized communities
- Revitalize MCDCC advocacy for progressive values
- Support Democratic Party clubs and caucuses
- Establish Party-led community service efforts
As a MCDCC member, Sarah will be an unshakable advocate for progressive values.
