Susan Smith for Alabama House District 66

“When I win, we all win!” -- Susan Smith, candidate for Alabama House of Representatives District 66.

I am seeking the office of Alabama House of Representative, District 66 because I WANT THE SAME THINGS YOU WANT!

My goal is to move Alabama, especially Baldwin and Escambia Counties forward. I believe the people of Alabama deserve officials they can trust. Public trust in our politicians in Alabama is at an all-time low, with three of our top leaders either have been removed from office or have resigned in disgrace. It is high time elected leaders focused on serving the people of Alabama, not just themselves or their parties. Leaders swear an oath to uphold the laws, do the right thing, and serve our people. If elected, I will represent all the people, strike compromise when it benefits our people, and uphold the highest standards of decorum.

Alabama ranks worst in many of the categories that measure a state’s success: education, infant mortality, diabetes, prescription drug abuse, life expectancy. We must change this! Consider these two facts: (1) Uneducated adults without at least a high school diploma or skilled trade make less than a living wage and cannot raise a family on that income. Most are unable to find jobs. (2) Unhealthy people cannot work.

In order to attract the industries and businesses we are seeking for Alabama, we must provide trained, healthy workers. That’s why my priorities are education, healthcare, and jobs.
