I'm Schuyler VanValkenburg! It has been my honor to represent Henrico in the Virginia General Assembly since 2018. I spent six years in the House of Delegates and I am in my third year of service in the State Senate. I've been working to put middle- and working-class families first, improve education, help Virginia transition to clean energy, keep our kids safe online and from gun violence, increase affordability and access to housing, and to protect Virginians' rights and freedoms--especially voting, reproductive healthcare, and marriage equality.
Since we won and kept the majority in the Virginia Senate in 2023, flipped the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and 13 seats in the House of Delegates, we've made tangible, consequential progress. However, with just a one-vote majority in the Virginia Senate and MAGA Republicans in charge of all three branches of government in DC, our democracy, rights, jobs, and economy are under attack.
People look to Virginia as a beacon. I need to continue to build a strong base from which to win re-election in 2027 and, in the meantime, help Democrats in Henrico and across the Commonwealth win in 2026.
